Bury Me In New Jersey operates at the intersection of media, community, and grief support. We support and empower independent artists, makers, and educators to connect deeply to creative expression — transforming personal experience into universal connection. Our programming spans print publications, written content, live events, and a podcast — all grounded in the belief that mourning deserves the same care, creativity, and investment we bring to any other fundamental human experience.

Mourning Papers is an original literary magazine, celebrating the spirit of New Jersey while exploring broader, universal themes: how we build community, how we care for one another, and how those practices can extend beyond where we live. Each issue aims to include first-person narratives, practical resources, and community-focused information, poetry, art, and photography — all reflective of the Bury Me In NJ mission.

  • Sara Wuillermin is a founding member of Bury Me in New Jersey, a group of writers, artists, and musicians creating work and community projects centered on four pillars: grief, joy, resistance, and New Jersey.   • Bradley Nussbaum is a member of Bury Me in New Jersey and a full-time hospice social worker. Leaning on his professional and lived experience, Bradley dedicates much of his time to organizing a union in his workplace, practicing inclusive death care, and advocating for a liberated Palestine as an anti-zionist Jewish American.
